idk I can't claim to understand the band's artistic vision I just personally felt the guitar parts were very tacked on for that latest single

Y'know the trajectory of Northlane's sound makes me feel like Jon just really wants to write an electronic dance album with Marcus and they can just do that. Not every song needs djent parts tuned to drop fuck, Nova is one of my favorite songs off Obsidian just do more of that

I'm not shy about how much I love The Cold Sun, it's my favorite Loathe album and one of my favorite albums period, but the transition between that and ILIIAITE was the best they've ever sounded. It had to be a split EP because a full album would've killed us

Now feels like as good a time as any to share my hottest Loathe take: they already peaked stylistically but it wasn't with any of their full-lengths, it was with This Is As One. White Hot and Servant and Master embody the Platonic ideal Loathe sound

Speaking of boring riffs I also listened to the new Northlane and while I'm actually very on board with them leaning even harder into electronic music, god I wish they'd actually write some interesting parts again

New Loathe single goes pretty hard and I love the Jami feature but idk the riffs were pretty boring to me and that's a distressing thing to say about a Loathe song. I didn't care much for the last single either but fingers crossed they'll work better for me in album context

@deadearbuds @userELAINE_EXE I have something similar. My sibling and a few of my friends like to take occasional photos and videos at shows, so whenever I go with them I get to just enjoy the show and then ask them to send me whatever they got afterwards

@coolskeletonpic @userELAINE_EXE 100% now i preplan which few songs ill film part of and spend the rest of the show enjoying the concert. last show i went to i only filmed parts of 4 songs (not even the whole songs)

New Failure album rips to the surprise of no one and the delight of everyone 🙂‍↕️ Only on my third or so listen so I'm not super familiar yet but I love that they folded a little more of their early sound in with the art/space rock style they've been refining post-reunion

@tofeelhealed I've been meaning to check out that Iglooghost album, I've heard good things about it

Actually on the topic of djent, sometimes a metalcore or mathcore band will basically make djent or something very inspired by it but in a way that actually rules and is very tasteful and cool and I like when that happens

I think listening to a little djent from time to time is ok, as a treat

That new Chamber album is pretty cool and there's some really good songs on there but my god does that semi-tone effect get old fast

I love Model/Actriz so fucking much oh my god
