@trousersofcrime I think people file Pokémon games in their minds as their own completely separate genre or something, and just refuse to engage with them as what they are: JRPGs. There is this expectation to go into a Pokémon game already knowing everything and facing no adversity. I dont get it

These are the exact kinda takes people are talking about when they say modern gaming’s QOL obsession is removing all friction. The Pokémon fandom is especially bad about it because seemingly no one is willing to accept the possibility of not going into every fight overleveled.

i don't think i've ever gotten a good explanation of how to play pokemon without the exp share... like i know it involves switch training and rearranging your team all the time and farming exp from chanseys but i just don't get why people prefer that. it's so inconvenient

@Toppingskid1993 Really hate giving dates ever because missing it is a disappointment for everyone involved, but I am definitely looking to have it done by then, yes. I'm trying my best for before 2026 end, but we shall see.

@KazeEmanuar I've been working on a Gen 2 romhack for years at this point, and have slowly picked up gbz80 assembly as I've gone. It's really fun and rewarding to work with!

After doing some assembly programming on the gameboy, I definitely have a new respect for the old Gen1 pokemon games.
The N64s MIPS is so much more convenient

Collision Chaos seems to be the ultimate litmus test for Sonic CD. Either you love it and think the game is incredible, or you hate it and think the game is dogshit 😂
