as someone who works in the agency side, i have the same sentiment. overall, this is a brand campaign and they have marketing objectives they need to meet :) KPIs include online engagement, reach, brand mentions, publicity (media writeups). pero why the need for influencers? because they're a part of comms channels — influencers can be engaged to create a specific type of content that brands need, like anong laman, anong format, anong messaging. they follow a brand guideline. get paid for this purpose. ang diskarte na lang talaga dyan is yung proper due diligence ng brands sa mga influencers that they get.
truth is, brands will always allocate complimentary slots for partners, influencers, media, VIPs because it's a marketing event.
