I find the idea that the problem with the DanDan Secret Lair drop was that it was too cheap hilarious. The issue is players not being able to get the cards are a reasonable price, increasing the cost quite literally does the opposite.

@jakeformayor If you open your mouth and say stupid things, then are surprised when random people on the internet point and say “hey look, a stupid idiot saying stupid things!” and are offended then you probably shouldn’t be talking. Have fun farming.

48 hours later it looks like the ragebait was flat out wrong. The problem wasn't scalpers. It was pricing. Selling DanDan at $99 made it a slam dunk for regular folks to buy two copies because it was essentially a buy 1, get 1 free. Fear of reselling lead to reselling behavior.

@jakeformayor Again, you are mistaking who the regular folks are in this case. People who play a 20+ year old format probably have a little bit of money to spend on a product like this. You are stupid if you think doubling the piece would affect sales. There was not enough made from the git go

@counteredbliss I'm arguing that most of the buyer action was from regular folks, not resellers. A higher price point might have discouraged regular folks from buying a second copy, leaving more on the market for other regular folks who just wanted a single.
