Lors de mon voyage en France l’année dernière, loin de Paris, près de la frontière suisse, j’ai traversé des villages médiévaux, marché dans de vieilles rues, découvert une partie de votre histoire, et vu de mes propres yeux à quel point les Français tiennent à leur culture, à leur paix, à leur liberté et à la dignité de leur nation.
C’est précisément pour cette raison que je refuse de croire que le peuple français puisse rester indifférent à ce qui se passe en Iran.
Peut être que beaucoup n’ont simplement pas encore vu toute la réalité.
Au merveilleux peuple de France, aux journalistes français, aux citoyens, et à toutes celles et ceux qui se soucient de la vie humaine et des droits humains : je vous demande, avec respect, d’écouter le prince Reza Pahlavi, le dirigeant choisi par le peuple iranien.
Depuis 47 ans, le peuple iranien vit sous la tyrannie de la République islamique. Des familles ont enterré leurs enfants. Des prisonniers politiques risquent l’exécution. Une grande civilisation se bat pour retrouver sa liberté.
Le peuple iranien ne demande pas à la France de la pitié. Il demande de l’attention, la vérité, et une voix.
