Today would’ve been my dad’s bday. We lost him in October to cancer. I haven’t processed it. Doesn’t feel real. I hear his voice every day. We talk about the news, the Heat, my daughters. Post-pandemic, there will be so much to celebrate, and so much to grieve.

#VentureCapital is historically white, and it’s estimated just 1% of venture backed founders are Black. That number is even smaller for Black women. We saw a positive shift in 2020, but that was just the start. We have a long road ahead.
