The last point is the most critical. While the Gold Markers obviously depict manga covers, the Dragon Ball fans (like me) know which specific volume covers are the most iconic. Right now on eBay several of the listings under $500, in raw, depict some of the most iconic covers. Some of those manga volume covers are included in the images below. If you are not familiar or don’t know what the top 20 manga volume covers are, you better research that NOW. Otherwise you won’t know which Gold Marker cards will carry a premium in the future. The Gold Marker cards are what make SB01 and SB02 so special. It’s nostalgia. I don’t expect these cards to stay under $500 for much longer. A sealed box of SB02 (in English) is now $360 on tcgplayer, up from $290 last week. As SB02 and SB01 boxes continue to go up in price, there will be less people opening those boxes, thus further limiting the pop count of Gold Marker cards that can be graded. For my One Piece TCG fans, the Dragon Ball Fusion World cards are similar to SP cards although I actually prefer the Gold Marker cards aesthetically.
