Adam Weitsman’s account was hacked. Let’s walk through what actually happened. Around 8 hours ago, his verified X account was compromised. From it, a “stealth project” was announced: ➫ First-come, first-served presale ➫ Min 1 SOL, max 50 SOL ➫ A public Solana wallet to send funds A photo saying “I’m not hacked” was posted to reinforce credibility. Greg Solano warned publicly that the account was compromised and told people not to engage. Still, some sent SOL. The scam worked. Hours later, (Gabe8bit(HV-MTL) confirmed the account was recovered. All fraudulent posts were deleted. That’s the technical story. Now the real one. The red flags were obvious: ➫ Wallet address in plain text ➫ “Stealth project” with no context ➫ Urgency + allocation limits ➫ No official website ➫ No audit ➫ No coordinated announcement ➫ A simple fansign as “proof” In 2021, maybe this slides. In 2026, it shouldn’t. But this wasn’t just about a hacked account. It was FOMO. It was greed. It was “what if I’m early.” It was the reflex of chasing upside without pausing. The hacker didn’t create sophistication. He exploited psychology. Blockchain didn’t fail. Technology didn’t fail. Critical thinking did. Digital security today should be as natural as locking your door at night. The biggest risk in Web3 isn’t the scammer. It’s the part of us that wants the shortcut.
