The UK has a far flatter income distribution than the Communist Soviet Union. The UK take home minimum wage for working a full time job (40-hours) is now £22,555. At £100k salary, the take home is £68,558. That is a net income ratio of 3.04:1 We are now at the point where the wage compression and taxes in the UK means that the difference between minimum wage and a top 5% salary is a net income difference of only ~3x. In the USSR using the same comparison, this figure never fell below 5:1 It's actually even worse in reality because the person earning £100k in the UK often has student loans. Britain is nominally capitalist but functionally communist. China is nominally communist but functionally capitalist. Funny how that works.

By the time I am 65, over $600,000 will be paid into Social Security on my behalf. That money would have been worth $1.9 million if I had gotten a 5% return. My annual interest would be $95k. The government promises me $3,075/month at age 67, which is $37k/year. HOW IS THIS NOT THEFT??

In Japan, menopause is called kōnenki which translates to “renewal years.” 🌸 Not decline. Not “the end.” A natural transition into strength, wisdom, and a new kind of feminine power. I love that so much. Maybe it’s time we start honouring it, too.

For eleven years, a 68-year-old retired forklift truck driver from Mirfield, England began each day by listening to his late wife's voice on their home answering machine message. She had passed away from cancer in 2003. He never changed phone companies. Every time a new provider offered him a better deal, he asked the same question: if I switch, will her voice be kept? The answer was always no. So he stayed. Then in December 2014, Virgin Media, his telephone provider, deleted the message during routine technical work. Stan Beaton described the moment he found out as one of the worst of his life. "I just could not tell people how it affected me," he told BBC Radio Leeds. "It really did devastate me." He contacted Virgin Media and told them what had happened. The executive director of engineering later described the task of finding it as searching for a needle in a haystack. The chances of recovery, he said, were slim. A team of engineers spent three days searching through archived servers anyway. They found it. Virgin Media sent Stan a CD with the recording. He broke down in tears the moment he heard her voice again. Is there a voice you would do anything to hear one more time?

A Group of guys, all turning 40, discussed where they should meet for lunch... Finally, it was agreed that they would meet at Wetherspoons in Uxbridge because the waitresses had big breasts and wore mini-skirts. Ten years later, at age 50, the friends once again discussed where they should meet for lunch. Finally, it was agreed that they would meet at Wetherspoons in Uxbridge because the waitresses were attractive. The food and service were good, and the beer selection was excellent. Ten years later, at age 60, the friends again discussed where they should meet for lunch. Finally, it was agreed that they would meet at Wetherspoons in Uxbridge because there was plenty of parking, they could dine in peace and quiet with no loud music, and it was good value for money. Ten years later, at age 70, the friends discussed where they should meet for lunch. Finally, it was agreed that they would meet at Wetherspoons in Uxbridge because the restaurant was wheelchair accessible and had a toilet for the disabled. Ten years later, at age 80, the friends discussed where they should meet for lunch. Finally, it was agreed that they would meet at Wetherspoons in Uxbridge because they had never been there before.

The Free Speech Union
The Free Speech Union@SpeechUnion·
📣🚨The Free Speech Union is mounting a legal challenge against the Government over its official definition of Islamophobia — now repackaged as 'anti-Muslim hatred' — and its appointment of a new 'tsar' to punish people who fall foul of it. This amounts to a Muslim blasphemy law via the back door. The definition is vague and subjective, and will be weaponised to silence legitimate criticism and debate about Islam, Muslims, and Islamic practices and history. The FSU’s General Secretary, Lord Young of Acton, said: “This is the most serious threat to free speech the Government has come up with so far — the only area in which it’s achieving any success. “If we don’t win this fight, tens of thousands of people a year could lose their jobs at the say-so of a Labour-appointed ‘tsar’. It’s dystopian.” Public bodies will adopt this definition — despite it being non-statutory — with the same zeal the police have shown in investigating and recording non-crime hate incidents (NCHIs). It is predicted by one of the drafters of the definition that it could lead to around 20,000 reports of 'anti-Muslim hostility' a year. At present, the number of recorded anti-Muslim hate crimes is around 4,000. In a free society, no religion should be shielded from legitimate criticism. This proposal places one faith above the rest. The Free Speech Union is bringing a legal challenge on two grounds. First, the definition relies on nebulous, legally undefined terms such as “negative and prejudicial stereotyping of Muslims”, making it incoherent and irrational — and ripe for weaponisation. Second, adopting such a definition cuts across legislation already enacted by Parliament and therefore breaches the public law principle known as “occupying the field”. Under this established public law doctrine, new regulations, put in place by ministers, must not replace existing legislation. It is constitutionally unlawful. In this case, the body responsible for protecting Muslims from discrimination is the Equality and Human Rights Commission, not an anti-Muslim hostility 'tsar'. Parliament voted to abolish blasphemy laws 18 years ago. We can't let this Government resurrect them via the back door. This is one of the biggest battles the Free Speech Union has ever taken on in its six years — and we need your help. Judicial reviews are expensive, but this is a fight we felt we had to take on. My dear compatriots, Decisive moments lie before us. The assistance that the President of the United States had promised to the brave people of Iran has now arrived. This is a humanitarian intervention, and its target is the Islamic Republic, its apparatus of repression, and its machinery of killing—not the country and great nation of Iran. However, despite the arrival of this assistance, the final victory will still be achieved by us. It is we, the people of Iran, who will finish this task in this final battle. The time to return to the streets is approaching. Now that the Islamic Republic is collapsing, my message to the country’s military, law enforcement, and security forces is clear: You have sworn an oath to protect Iran and the Iranian nation, not the Islamic Republic and its leaders. Your duty is to defend the people, not to defend a regime that has taken our homeland hostage through repression and crime. Join the nation and help ensure a stable and secure transition. Otherwise, you will sink with Khamenei’s ship and his crumbling regime. And my message to the President of the United States, President Trump, is this: The honorable people of Iran, despite the brutal repression and killings carried out by this regime, stood bravely for nearly two months. I now ask you to exercise the utmost possible caution to preserve the lives of civilians and my compatriots. The people of Iran are your natural allies and the allies of the free world, and they will not forget your assistance during the most difficult period of Iran’s contemporary history. And to you, my dear compatriots in Iran: In these sensitive hours and days, more than ever we must remain focused on our ultimate goal: reclaiming Iran. I ask you, for now, to remain in your homes and remain calm and safe. Stay alert and ready to return to the streets for the final action at the appropriate time, which I will communicate to you. Follow my messages through social media and satellite media. If disruptions occur in the internet and satellite broadcasts, I will remain in contact with you via radio. We are very close to final victory. I hope to be with you as soon as possible so that together we may reclaim Iran and rebuild it. Long live Iran. Reza Pahlavi

🚨 £500,000,000 MORE FOR UKRAINE — NO QUESTIONS ASKED Another half-billion pounds. That’s £500,000,000 of British taxpayers’ money — announced in seconds — for “urgent air defence” in Ukraine. When was the last time you saw a detailed breakdown of where the previous billions went? When was the last time Parliament debated outcomes instead of headlines? When was the last time the public got transparency on results, oversight, or measurable impact? We are told: It’s urgent. It’s necessary. It’s strategic. But we are not shown: • A clear audit trail • A full spending report • A defined endgame Meanwhile, at home: Energy bills are crushing families. Public services are stretched. Infrastructure is crumbling. Foreign aid decisions move at lightning speed. Domestic relief moves at glacial speed. You don’t have to oppose Ukraine to ask questions. You don’t have to side with Russia to demand accountability. Half a billion pounds is not spare change. It’s your money. And transparency should not be optional.

@elonmusk What does this even mean? Diversify how? The countryside is there, the pubs are there, the shops are there. You just need to…turn up? No one is stopping them? Either visit or don’t. What do minorities want to happen for them to visit? Always the victim.
