If the filmmaker says it one way.. critics see it one way... and the vast majority of the discussing audience sees it one way. I think you may be the problem. Watch it again and the interviews too if you have to

@daemonslut @DiscussingFilm The movie would have benefited from fleshing out Nikki's character both pre- and post- wish. Writing her as a 3-D character is not degrading at all.

@strappyshoe @DiscussingFilm That's not at all how the movie is. Like I said previously, there are over a dozen instances of a clear stance, no fence at all... I think you are not meant to understand and enjoy art. You should watch and share documentaries instead.

@strappyshoe @DiscussingFilm The fact that you and I are here, and millions others, to discuss this movie and break down why it represents a real and sinister phenomenon. Shows that he did well. Barker said he wanted to ride the line and invite post-watch discussion and contemplation. I think he nailed that

@strappyshoe @DiscussingFilm So you want it to be more direct about her victimhood but complain about Barker relying on degrading her? That's contradictory + the movie is ENTIRELY from Bears perspective on purpose, it's a well done artistic choice and sells Bear's transition from normal guy to villain.

@daemonslut @DiscussingFilm A large PERCENTAGE of the movie's scenes is dedicated to Bear's perspective because Barker is not interested in his victim's. Just because I disagree with you doesn't mean I'm wrong. Your attitude is dismissive.
