@JamaicaGleaner Consensus is the absence of leadership. Winners get to decide. Losers learn to live with the decisions of the winner. This cannot be a real ask! No way. Only 28 groups? One would expect Twenty-nine civil society groups.

@damionfray Bad policies haunt you for decades…. Another reason It pisses me off so much to see the youth so naively waive their right to vote for leases who make decisions that will make the rest of their lives miserable.

We spent 50 years propping up an occupation of Cuba by using Cuban indentured servants instead of investing in our Jamaicans doctors and nurses. It’s a terrible scar on our independent nation that will take years to heal. I’m still glad we ripped off the bandaid.

Sometimes what you need is loyalty and fidelity to your agenda and policies. This is why patronage may be a better qualification than academic credentials. I’m sure the man/woman in question can read or direct his assistant or AI to complete tasks. In these type of organisations, the agenda is already set - nothing to invent. Nothing to innovate. Just steer the vessel away from the reef. Moreover, it’s lower tiered employees and supervisors that execute the mission. This is the British way and Jamaica is aligned with this mentality.

READ: No degrees, no problem... Executive Director of the National Solid Waste Management Authority Audley Gordon has defended the controversial appointments at the entity. He claims that the NSWMA has consistently ensured that its managers and directors possess the “requisite skills and competence” and are best suited for the required roles. jamaica-gleaner.com/article/news/2…

I want Cliff to tell me whats happening over by NNN; cant pay staff or statutory obligations and threats to the sales team that they will be paid last. Doesn't he see that not only commentators are avoiding them but advertisers too? Wonder why?
Rampanpiza tweet media
Rampanpiza@dentona22

So how NNN run out with story that RJR/Gleaner cant make payroll when they themselves cant make payroll for months. The 15.5m earned for the month of April means only junior staff may get paid and the sales team will get pay after management. Govt mouthpiece not working out.

@maxtop123 @DamionMitch @elonmusk @BillGates So what would you consider a fair requirement or minimum qualification to run a waste management department? Do you need a PhD degree in management and/or waste disposal dynamics? Also, do you want someone who opposes your ideology to deep state your directives?

@damionfray @DamionMitch @elonmusk @BillGates This is an IDIOTIC statement. Yes- positions require QUALIFICATIONS because ppl need to have KNOWLEDGE for their respective professions. Doctors study medicine, lawyers study law, barbers, plumbets are ppl who learn trades. I don't want a plumber to trim me.

Use Cuban doctors to block the Jamaican doctor from earning. Use over-credentialed PhD types to block the Jamaican with or without a degree. Use local degree requirements to block the Technocrat or returning resident or US educated. Use old boy network to block the man from "the country." Sometimes your political patronage is the only card you can play. Its either that or the obeah man.

We are witnessing the collapse of the over-credentialing scam. PhD, and Masters pursuit in Jamaica seems to benefit only the schools. Eating the fickle dishes from shifting plates is why there are now issues with the Waste Management entity. Here is how the scam works: 1. HR departments (mostly public entities) set up hiring rules based on what degrees the University is pushing. 2. Gullible people with access to loans and housing complete these degrees. 3. Upon graduation, their degree is outdated or no longer relevant. 4. Degree is outdated because men/women with "links" already take up all the opportunities. 5. Person with degree then decide to teach thinking it will hold them over until a spot opens up. Wrong! Not qualified. As they need a certification. More money needed. More school. More housing (Man is like 35 by then. No wife. No pickney. No house. No car. Just debt and isolation) 6. Person migrate or end up working fast food because they are over-credentialed and indoctrinated to believe that the advanced degree guaranteed them a top class job.

Old boy networks, political patronage, where you live, where you are from, skin tone, family name, visa status, UWI, what you drive, first to own this, first to own that; are all in place as part of the standard. I can only imagine that one of these qualitative standards were violated for this to be news reported by this tabloid. Most likely someone voted one way and had 13 subjects instead of 14 or went to JC instead of KC. Envy is real.

@damionfray @JamaicaGleaner What this is cronyism. If you have standards & policies in place that you claim to adhere to, then do the opposite, you're out of compliance. If the standards dont matter, remove them. But its very clear now why the agency has been a failure

These type of incidents seem to be from laying hands on people. “Drape up” culture when paired with social media and cameras everywhere has turned everyone into performance artists. If police cannot gain suspect compliance without physical altercation then the place is fucked. Also, charge the parents and the “student audience” for whom they are performing and this will disappear.

This socialist tabloid is always in attack mode, or concerned mode, rather than reporting the news. Like most leftists, when they are called out, they cry victim and try to place themselves above it all. Your job is not to hold anyone accountable except for your employees (who you may want to pay). Report the news!

There is probably no bigger crime against humanity than the destruction of the United Kingdom. England in the 90s, where I grew up, was actual paradise. The pub gardens, the white people, oasis with fish and chips. There were full bars and clubs 7 nights a week in every single town let alone city. Always something to do. Even if you were poor, go out with a tenner and have the best time. 10,000 pound night today is 1% of what a 10-pound night was back then. Neighborly people. Safe streets. Even the council estates were safe. You had to live it to understand it. Everything’s been destroyed.

@williams_fayval @5Solae The JTA is a political org. How much evidence needs to be presented for jamaica to wake up and demand dissolution or resignation of leadership. All our unions keep the standard low to keep membership high. Weakest links are protected. Its purpose is power, not progress.
