Beneath the crescent moon, Jacob and Jaime finally closed the distance the desert had stretched between them. The arid heat could no longer keep them apart. The world fell quiet as they whispered in each other’s ears. Even the wind knew not to interrupt them now.

Jesse and Jerome stood silent and strong like the cacti. They fully believed that they needed no one. But as they approached each other, something shifted—the desert became charged with something alive. Their individual strength was no match for the energy between them.
