In order to work as a digital form of cash, a cryptocurrency additionally needs to have: ⚡️️Instant payments (no waiting for confs) ⚡️️Low fees (anyone can afford small payments) ⚡️️Scaling (to maintain low fees) ⚡️️Explicit privacy ⚡️️Ease of use Some cryptocurrencies are purpose-built for data operations and smart contracts, or large settlements. They don't serve the functions of digital cash very well. Layer-two solutions (such as the Lightning Network) also don't qualify, since they invariably run into issues for any of the above from the requirement of interfacing with the main chain. Particularly usability, which suffers when the network is fragmented. This is why layer-one scaling is crucial for digital cash! So why is digital cash important? 🤔 Because it's crucial to both freedom and prosperity. We believe that the world benefits from financial inclusion. Personal sovereignty and empowerment can only truly be achieved when anyone in the world can send and receive money from anyone else, anywhere in the world, affordably, for any reason, and without making their finances public. We also believe that this is good for the global economy and prosperity. Economies and innovation flourish as friction to use money decreases. Digital cash is good for the world! Where does Dash fit into this? 🧐 Dash transactions are cheap, instantly-settled thanks to InstantSend, secure and irreversible thanks to ChainLocks, are able to be private, and unconditional. Dash is also accepted at a wide range of businesses and services around the world, meaning it's digital cash you can use today. You can even close your bank and use it exclusively. Not someday. Today! 🤯 Dash is simply the best digital cash in the world. We're constantly evolving though! 🧬 We're working on creating simple, human-readable usernames and contact lists, so sending money will feel like an easy, enjoyable, social experience.
