Not our best day. One massive plus from yesterday was how good the bench side assistant was, approachable, made some very good calls and spoke to us clearly. Officials often get criticised but yesterday he was first class.

@domdipaola @TheSnlf Got caught out twice last season with one official injured at half time, and one didn’t show up so my dad (who came to watch) ended up running the line! Both times my extra kit and boots in my bag came to the rescue… 🤣

How important is it for you as clubs and supporters when it comes to match official's arrival attire? Branded smart tracksuits so they're in a uniform of three or a shirt and tie? Is the latter too old school? Is the former more expected as you would expect your players to arrive as? Or does it not matter at all? Drop us your thoughts..... #SundayDebate

Frustratingly.. due to an on going Miniscus tear x 2 in my knee I am taking a sabbatical from my Refereeing with immediate effect, which has been agreed by the FA. I hope to get the surgery I need asap and get back on the grass asap 🙏 🤞🦵🏥🚑⚽️⛔️ @FARefereeing @SussexCountyFA

@davidstappleton David, totally agree the feedback has been the same, that's why we put it out public to get the feel, definitely not going to do it, but we had to ask

People keep saying to me, why not once a month do a show where you analyse the "dodgy decisions" sent through via VEO/YIR and ask a neutral ref and other coaches for their opinion on it? I reckon that has some substance...

@thesnlfdod But there is always a different opinion and view, and we only get one look at it and have to make a snapshot decision. We don’t have the benefit of VAR and decisions are only made honestly and without ill intention. Enjoy your summer 💪

@thesnlfdod Sorry guys, this won’t work. As an official I am always happy to watch VEO clips and have a discussion with the club and manager (as I have done with some who have commented) but that is just so I can see where I can improve as an official, how I can work into better angles etc
