This is ableism at its finest. And normalizing this language--especially as someone who has such a large platform--has very negative real-world consequences. It's disgusting. Dream should be ashamed of himself.

In this case, it's not changing the context to use the word in a more positive light. It's not being used to showcase the experience of someone who has history been harassed or mistreated via the usage of this word. It's only here to further insult a group of people.

You're still a person, and your actions still have consequences, regardless of your labels or diagnoses. This tweet stigmatizes people who are neurodivergent by using the r-slur as a fill-in for whatever the opposite of growing up is. It's a fill-in for "Stupid", let's be real.

Being a part of a marginalized group does NOT justify you marginalizing other people. You don't get to call insult someone using an ableist slur and be like, "Oh--but I have this diagnosis. So you can't criticize my blatant hate speech. " NO! THAT'S NOT HOW THIS WORKS.

You're using the word to stigmatize and "other" people in the very same hateful way that people of that community have experienced for decades and decades and decades.

Disabled people can still be ableist. Let's talk about Dream's use of the R-Slur. Lots of people online have tried justifying this usage of the term, citing that Dream's has been diagnosed with Autism.
