Thinking of starting something. Let's see if it catches on. Every day, I'll add one bishop to this thread. Make an effort to pray especially for him that day. (Active prelates will be added alphabetically by their see; if a see is vacant, its most recent occupant will be named)

@jaketropolis I believe google docs version history should also exist if you share the document directly with your prof via the share function in docs. Not sure how often it saves changes, but I imagine it's similarly frequent.

professor decided not to accept a paper i wrote because it was "100% AI" and it seems that the smoking gun is my use of four citations that include "et al." what do you even do

@OVTweetmarck I hate being that skeptic but "we LANDED on the moon in 1969". Just 3 days to get to there. Artemis 2 is a TEN day venture where they loop it and come back without even touching it What am I missing here for context. It's been 50 years

@CatholicCubsFan Ah-- so II is a flyby = 8, III is a landing tester = 9, IV actually gets boots on the ground on the Moon = 11

@deddecco I think III was originally planned as a landing mission, but now it’s a mission to test the lander. Think Apollo 9. I could be wrong about that, but that’s the latest I’ve heard.

No one except die-hards really remembers the first words of the third person on the Moon (Pete Conrad: “That may have been a small one for Neil, but it’s a long one for me”), but I wonder if the first words from Artemis IV will be profound or more…clinical.

Yes, we do have what we believe is the original veil from the 6th station! (And in fact, we publicly display it, at St. Peter's, for something like a minute and a half, on the 5th Sunday of Lent every year; and for the other 364 days 23 hours and 58.5 minues of the year

@Joeinblack Hi Father! Long-time listener here, listening to your Holy Week episode as I'm debugging some code. You were just asked about Veronica's Veil, at the point where I am.

@Maryk1977 It saddens me to imagine when that day comes... Let us always love Pope Leo and let us everyday pray for him. 🙏

A Pope who couldn’t carry the cross on Good Friday due to health reasons: “he’s not representing Christ bc he’s not carrying His Cross” A Pope young enough to carry it: “he’s not representing Christ bc he just wants the spotlight” People just want to complain all the time. SMH

@Heaveniswatchin @chiweethedog Apparently it means in the Lombard dialect that someone in his family tree was very talkative/argumentative, like "Smith" used to mean you were a gold/siver/black-smith and worked with those materials, etc.

2. I can't find any setting of the Mass, German or otherwise, that uses the melody to set the Creed. So: a) Did Hellriegel write the melody as a one-off? b) If not, where is the Mass setting? Anyone know anything about this??

Ok so.... @WalkingHymnal and others: 512345432.... ("To Jesus Christ our Sovereign King", etc.)'s melody is called "Ich Glaub an Gott" which 1. I assume means it's a setting of the (Apostles'?) Creed in German but

@captgouda24 is this a joke about "the amount of gold one GBP can buy < a pound [of feathers]" or is this an observation RE: the avoirdupois (I think????) vs troy pounds (vs. carats?) and how weird those competing systems are, so a "pound" of gold really is less than, e.g., a "pound" of fruit

@BMani @SimonViklund If a service is stupid enough to store their clients' passwords anywhere in *plaintext* run the other way and scream to everyone who can hear you about who you're running from, so we can all start running too, because they have *many* more security issues if you know they do that

@SimonViklund Usually in a security breach its the hash thats leaked, not the password itself. If you have a simple password, it's that much easier to reverse the hash. Complexity is important *because* there are leaks (amongst other reasons)

Can we PLEASE for the LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY just STOP IT with the password complexity criteria already? We all know the highest risk is that the service itself leaks the password in a security breach, and then what use is the complexity?
