After Traelyn Taylor opened the scoring with a quick basket, RL9 managed to stay even and eventually took an 11-8 lead midway through the opening period behind a 7-point scoring streak. The teams remained deadlocked at 13-12 in favor of RL9 after one quarter, with Taylor leading C.C.C. Black's early efforts with 4 points. The second quarter featured multiple momentum swings before C.C.C. Black began to assert control.
