Don't be afraid of archetypes or tropes. Your favorite character is probably inspired by an older character from a movie inspired by a character from book inspired by folklore inspired by some real historical guy. Don't worry about being unique, be interesting.

don't make ocs just for the sake of "representation" without treating them like actual characters (e.g. black ocs, queer ocs, etc). they're people, and people are not one dimensional or tokenized, give them actual personality, avoid offensive tropes, LEARN.
