DESFA Driving a Resilient Energy Future for Greece & Europe DESFA CEO Maria Rita Galli, speaking at the 5th Thessaloniki Metropolitan Summit, organized in Thessaloniki by @TheEconomist Impact Events and @PowergameGr emphasized the substantial contribution of the gas industry in the East Med’s energy transformation – from strengthening security of energy supply and the resilience of our energy systems, to driving innovation and decarbonization through CCS. DESFA is proud to lead this transformation through strategic initiatives and infrastructure that highlight Greece as a regional energy pioneer. At the 9th Southeast Europe Energy Forum (SEEF 2025) hosted by the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and the Hellenic Association of Energy Economics, DESFA CEO, Maria Rita Galli highlighted the Vertical Corridor’s transformation from vision to reality. She emphasized that, thanks to the strong cooperation among “Route 1” partners, a first but significant step has been taken toward enhancing supply diversification. For the first time, Ukrainian importers could purchase capacity at a European liquid hub. 💚 Supporting the communities we serve At #DESFA, we believe #infrastructure development must go hand in hand with creating lasting value for #society. True to this belief, we’ve donated 27 defibrillators to local communities across the Regional Units of #Imathia and #Kozani in Central and Western Macedonia during two handover ceremonies held on July 22 in Kozani and #Veria in the presence of regional and local authorities representatives. This initiative is part of our broader #CorporateSocialResponsibility program and aims to strengthen local #resilience and #emergencypreparedness along the route of the soon-to-be-completed #WestMacedoniaPipeline. Με επιτυχία πραγματοποιήθηκε η Eτήσια Ημέρα Υγείας, Ασφάλειας και Περιβάλλοντος (HSE) του ΔΕΣΦΑ, στο Κέντρο Λειτουργίας & Συντήρησης Κεντρικής Ελλάδας, στα Αμπέλια, με τη συμμετοχή προσκεκλημένων τόσο με φυσική παρουσία όσο και μέσω διαδικτυακής σύνδεσης. Κατά τη διάρκεια της εκδήλωσης, παρουσιάστηκαν σημαντικά επιτεύγματα και προκλήσεις στον τομέα της ΥΑΠ, με έμφαση στην ασφάλεια διεργασιών και σε καινοτόμες λύσεις που ενισχύουν τη συνεχή πρόοδο και τη βιωσιμότητα. Το σύνολο της ημέρας ανέδειξε τη διαρκή δέσμευση του ΔΕΣΦΑ στην καλλιέργεια κουλτούρας ΥΑΠ, ως βασικό στοιχείο των επιχειρησιακών του πρακτικών. Συνάδελφοι από εργοτάξια έργων σε όλη την Ελλάδα μοιράστηκαν πολύτιμες εμπειρίες και βέλτιστες πρακτικές σχετικά με την υγεία, την ασφάλεια και το περιβάλλον. The annual DESFA Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Day was successfully held in a hybrid format at our Operation & Maintenance Center of Central Greece, in Ampelia. Throughout the day, we explored key HSE achievements and challenges, delved into process safety topics, and presented innovative solutions — all underscoring DESFA’s unwavering commitment to an HSE culture embedded in our operations and driving us toward a more sustainable future. Colleagues from project construction sites across Greece shared valuable experiences and best practices in health, safety, and environment. The day concluded with DESFA’s established recognition of its HSE Champions — a valued tradition that honors individuals for their outstanding commitment to continuous improvement in HSE performance.
