Two hours’ drive outside Guatemala City is the Church of Santa Cruz in Balanya. It is a quite amazing setting - with a volcano in the background which gives a puff of smoke every now and then. Indigenous people make up a large part of the congregation here (and Guatemala’s population as a whole). They face immense challenges including extreme levels of poverty and marginalisation. But the hospitality and welcome we received will stay with me for a long time, as well as the sense of togetherness and community. What a joy to celebrate Eucharist together and to preach on the faithfulness, justice and goodness of God in Jesus Christ.

Awful customer service just received from @virginmedia - out of contract loyal customer for over 10 years wanting a better deal. A new customer can get what I want for 50% of what I can get it for. Such a contrast from the brilliant engineer who was here last week.
