The damn flap was rusted to the rim. I have in the past removed the top rings, clipped the air chuck to it and add some air. Sometimes you get lucky with a lot of lube and working it back and forth it will loosen it enough. Naturally you need to watch the amount of pressure...lol It can be hard on flaps doing it this way too.

On Thursday, a YCSO deputy spotted a vehicle traveling the wrong way on Highway 69 near Humboldt. Recognizing that the driver showed no signs of stopping, the deputy made a potentially life-saving decision. He positioned his patrol vehicle directly in the driver's path.

@Spottyroo If you replace the u-joint you must be planning on keeping a defective shaft for some reason. Normally if you do anything to a new part they won't let you return it. Order another shaft and swap it out.

U joint felt a little tight on the new shaft when I was inspecting it. Gave it some taps on the yoke and whatnot, just figured it would free up a bit. Lol no - awful vibration under any load. Typical pins and needles. But this time I really have to force it to move. Going to put a good Spicer joint in and see how it does before giving up and buying a better shaft lol.

@mototingle Back in the day we used a BFH 🔨 and a sung fitting socket. Hammer the socket onto the lock nut and most of the time you could remove the lock. The other way is labor intensive for sure and the customers wheel will need some paint touch up too..lol
