We adopted our son from India at 2.5 and had a 15 hour flight home. He cried for almost the entire flight. I did everything imaginable to calm and comfort him -- to no avail. There were points of the flight that we were both crying. The frustrated looks from other passangers didn't help, and all I needed in that moment was some kindness. They make really great noise cancelling headphones these days, and I wish our culture was more supportive of families and children.

@Outdoordawgg @ChelsPat Hey champ. Children adjusting to a zillion new things at once can be distressed for a number of reasons. These people spent years studying and preparing for this adoption and all it would entail. But children are human. You can’t just game-plan away all the hard stuff.

@ChelsPat ear pressure change causes discomfort. Use a pacifier to offer some relief. You should have known this before you took a toddler on a 15 hour flight. Be considerate to other passengers who are trying to get some sleep.

@LeeKurtiss @NehaNihari48157 @ChelsPat Of course she cares about others (heck, the stress of that is likely what brought her to tears), but you act like people can control the emotions of a distressed toddler. We often can’t. And we all have to get home somehow despite that.

SIX TIMES this week Republicans tried to fully fund DHS and pay TSA workers, along with the other men and women who work every day to keep Americans safe. Democrats refuse because they want to defund law enforcement and take us back to Biden’s failed open border policies. They’re using hardworking Americans as political pawns in that quest.
