@Driftwould2 I’ve seen a lot of people on here say (or it could just be copy pasta) that they walked out of ‘Disclosure Day’ after 20 min, citing they were too bored. Those same folks probably would not have made it even 10 min into ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ 😂

The main "bad guy" is a cliche' evil British guy who runs a private company whose purpose is never explained. Did I mention he has a magical MacGuffin that does random things to move the plot forward? It didn't miss a single lazy film making trope.

I went and saw Disclosure Day. One of the worst films I've seen in a while. The script was cliché, squandered the cool premise, the characters are shallow and the FX some of the worst I've seen in years. Not sure what Stephen Spielberg was thinking.

Easy to see where it's from when you watch the movie with your open eyes. It comes from this machine, we are inside an alien ship that somehow crashed with the alien we see at the end. Not the main problem of DD...

Spoiler Alert: Disclosure Day isn't really about aliens or anything like that. It's about magical glow sticks that are never explained or exposited, but comprise the overwhelming bulk of the plot. They also do whatever Spielberg and Koepp need them to do whenever the plot runs aground.

disclosure day was the worst written movie i've ever seen, and that's coming from someone who likes aliens.
the movie opens with a POV of a pro wrestler in the middle of getting beaten up and thrown around, and that pretty much sums up the experience of watching that movie.

@buddhistwisdom7 @trygraptor Those are typically the best films (for the side who loves it). There’s something more personal than a universally praised film like Project Hail Mary, which I completely enjoyed, but don’t see entering any cinephiles shortlist of faves. DD speaks loudly to a particular audience.

@Goth__Chris It’s not. That term doesn’t mean anything. It’s doing exactly what it’s meant to do, organically at that. Just accept that you may not enjoy it as much as the majority, but nothing can be overrated and simultaneous an organic phenomenon at the box office.

Saw Disclosure Day last night and actually hated it. Checked my watch repeatedly wondering when it was going to end. Movie is so self absorbed in its fake profoundness. Might be the worst Spielberg movie I’ve seen.
