Let’s just go on a little journey in the life of a business owner specifically-in the automotive industry. So many people complain why are oil changes over $100? I see this complaint often in community groups on social media. They say you can easily get that done for $30 or $40 and that the shop is ripping people off… MAYBE if you buy bottom quality oil and do it yourself you could easily do it for under $50 if you have a small tiny car that takes 5 quarts. For example: These trucks that we work on, an oil change on most of them, take 15 quarts of oil and requires full synthetic oil. So let’s go by today’s pricing what it cost me to get one 55 gallon drum of 5W-30 full synthetic oil. $920 my cost. That’s $4.18 a quart x15 q That’s $63 JUST for oil. Then you have to add the filter in there, the labor that we have to pay the technician to do so, and then the disposal fee that we get charged for waste product pick up. Then you have shop supplies like rags and oil dry if fluids spill or get on the floor, etc. it’s not just a quick $40 oil change anymore. We try to stay competitive as possible and 90% of the time most businesses are not making money on oil changes at all, in fact, we actually lose money on oil changes. So try to remember this math example when you think you’re being ripped off. It’s just not the case . It’s tough out here in these streets 😂.

I made a flower! 🌼 I’ve been wanting some metal flowers in my garden for awhile but they are either cheap and gaudy looking or overpriced and expensive; so a metal worker/artist friend has been slowly teaching me how to make my own using old sheet metal. It’s actually not hard at all if you have the right tools. Now I’ll slowly build my metal flower garden and use all the old metal lying around the farm🌻💛🌻
