If you’re curious about the harm that can happen in mental healthcare but prefer a blog over an academic article (even an open access one), check out this excellent summary from the Mental Elf. It covers the key findings of our review in a clear and accessible way.

Brilliant to see @bulawayojulie representing @UniBham_Nursing at the @GRNurses Panamerican Nursing Research Conference in Chile. Keynote about research leadership and policy in nursing, using examples from her research to highlight some of the challenges.

Final thought from #ECVCP2024. Look how futuristic the sinks are! Like something from the flight deck of a spaceship!

@DrJohnABaker @VeikkoPiri When they have developed the fidelity checklist, based on the active ingredients, it might help to answer the issues raised in your Compare and Contrast studies, by identifying which ingredients work for who and in what circumstances

@DrJohnABaker @VeikkoPiri As I understand it active ingredients aren’t a taxonomy—they’re the essential elements that show each Safewards intervention has taken place, as identified by experts in a Delphi study. They help us recognise when an intervention has actually occurred.

Final day of the #ECVCP2024 and enjoying listening to @mckennakdkit talking about #debriefing I spoke about what should be happening according to NHS trust policies. Kevin now talking about the multi-axial model of post-occurrence review (debriefing).

@NycIcarusOrg @PeterLepping This was more of a theoretical discussion. Practically, there is no point offering choice if those choices aren't followed, which sounds like your experience.

@dr_nutmeg @PeterLepping is this a list that is compiled before an incident? or a real-time question-- coping skill, pill, shot? my workplace has a list but no one looks at it or adds to it. as for the real-time question, its not done by people who are regulated, so its unhelpful.

@PeterLepping starting an interesting and important debate on offering choice of restrictive interventions. Acknowledging that all options have the potential for harm so which is least harmful for the individual? #ECVCP2024

@VeikkoPiri Anna Bjorkdahl talking us through how #safewards has 46 active ingredients. Now ready to develop a fidelity instrument - that's going to be so useful for assessing whether interventions are actually implemented.
