@geekbench It seems that, as of today, all the MacBook Pro 2018 results are taken down from Geekbench4 search? I can no longer see any 2018 results? #throttlegate#MacBookPro
@macworld Thanks for the review, but I wish you offered more performance proofs instead of just generic benchmarks, as several real world tests pointed that 2018 i9 performance (both Premiere AND FinalCut) is SLOWER than 2017 i7 MacBook Pro due to throttling. No mention of that?
@thegrugq If they kept the 2015 body (and the keyboard), put in a hexacore CPU with a GTX1060 and 32Gb RAM, and sold it for $5000, I'd buy two of those on a first day.
@connectidtech For the same reasons, last year I've got a second hand MacBook Pro from early 2014 for about $850. I still feel much more confident in that one then buying one of the new machines.
@mikedemarais New ones (with -hopefully- fixed keyboard and decent 2018-level specs) will probably be announced in September and be available just before Xmas.
so if ive been waiting until #wwdc to buy a macbook pro... should i just do it now or could they refresh the hardware in coming days? 😫 how does it work
@connectidtech I'm in a same boat but I would never buy current MacBook Pro and risk the keyboard issues. Stick to your old machine until that gets fixed.
