@NotDerek666 The quality remains excellent it’s the opportunity to train that is now lacking. If we don’t fix that we will fail to meet the demand that is ever increasing. It is wrong to increase the input at medical school and not match that at the next stage.

@drjonchambers1 It’s not the quantity that’s the problem. We need far better quality doctors who are clinically regulated. We have tried throwing more and more crap staff at this for a decade and it got worse.

This is a national crisis. There are insufficient posts in the system to train the specialists the NHS needs. Ultimately the patients of the future will suffer as a result. To use the much needed increase in specialist training posts as a negotiating tool is wrong.
