Comparing player numbers is complicated; it could have decreased for a number of reasons, including the fact that Fortnite's total player base dropped during the period you mentioned. about the experiment of asking not to recommend, it's incredible. I'll definitely apply it to my maps. Would that be against Epic's rules?

@droia This is actually smart lol, but I don't think its fair to conclude this specifically led to a decrease in your player counts. I think your map platform share is a better metric to look at :)
