@colmoregan @KillianM2 I'm nearly certain we watched the final at home, and we didn't have any of the channels so must have been on RTE...

@KillianM2 niche question - do you remember if RTE showed Ken Doherty's world final bout. I have a memory it was only a few frames. I remember following it on AERTEL for at least some of it. Ring any bells?

@gcooney93 If the issue at the end of the day is money that's preventing a fight in Ireland, then let the promoters take a smaller cut. Let the fighters take a smaller cut. Don't get tax payers money involved.

@wearetherace You sourced the clip from somewhere else and you do attribute it, but you also put your own watermark all over video. Why?

@dulpit27 @P_Kallioniemi Canada I’m not scared of police and fully respect them and wish for them to be protected. Even tho i find RCMP to be mostly incapable and incompetent 😬

@riechersm @MariaMunoz1980 @P_Kallioniemi That's very much saying that it was the victims fault for getting shot. Protest is valid and allowed. Normal countries allow protest and, if it is deemed excessive, the penalty is not death by gunshot to the head. That seems to be an American thing.

@MariaMunoz1980 @dulpit27 @P_Kallioniemi No one is saying we should fear government or police in general, I'm saying you should be afraid to stalk harass and interfere with officers in the midst of doing their dangerous job. If you don't you're just a fool and probably bad things are gonna happen to you

@riechersm @P_Kallioniemi So why are Americans happy to live in a society where death by cop is a thing? Where chips feel unsafe to do their jobs?

@dulpit27 @P_Kallioniemi that's more numbers than required to prove something no one is disagreeing with. Once again, I'm happy that relatively few Irish people are killed each year. I am glad you are safe

@riechersm @P_Kallioniemi The US has about 60 times the population as Ireland. According to Wiki there were 1281 people killed by us law enforcement officers in 2025, the figure was 1406 in 2024 and 1089 in 2023. Per capita that would equate to between 18 and 23 people per year in Ireland. Doesn't happen.

@dulpit27 @P_Kallioniemi I am happy for you in that regard. Here in a much larger more diverse society, very few but not zero people are killed by the police

@riechersm @P_Kallioniemi Where I live the fear would be of arrest, not death. I can think of 1 instance in the last 6 years where the police here killed somebody in the course of their duty...

@dulpit27 @P_Kallioniemi This is your problem with correct framing reasserting itself. The original image says that if you stalk police and harass them in the commission of their dangerous duties, more fear would protect you from a possible grisly end

@dulpit27 @P_Kallioniemi if actually interested, I could help you understand, but I suspect you are not confused in the sense of seeking clarity, you are using 'confusion' rhetorically. I live here and I am not afraid of the police at all, although I am always careful around and person with a gun

@riechersm @P_Kallioniemi Confusion. I understand that Americans do fear their police, I don't understand how people would think that's a natural way to live.
