@eBurtness @Mariucci_Guy You can google it. The other part you had wrong was that you said Motzko was a complete failure. That is incorrect. I have high expectations for the club too, but calling him a failure is just plain wrong.

I’ll always remember Motzko for bringing the fans back to Mariucci and for reigniting the alumni base. It’s imperative for whoever takes over next to continue the work that Bob did with the alumni. It’s the program’s greatest asset.

Left up to me, I would roll with J.J. McCarthy in 2026 and sink or swim with a competent backup. But that's if I were in charge. I don't think the Vikings' current leadership has that grace. I think they have to win now, get to the postseason, and probably win a playoff game for full job security. It seems like a no-brainer that the Vikings will add a notable QB soon. Here's my order of preference, operating under the assumption that they won't run it back with McCarthy as the sole QB1 solution: 1. Kyler Murray if released by ARI 2. Malik Willis from free agency 3. Kyler Murray via trade 4. Mac Jones via spendy trade with SF 5. Anthony Richardson via low-risk trade 6. Will Levis via low-risk trade 7. Tua Tagovailoa if released 8. Spencer Rattle via low-risk trade 9. Signing a Marcus Mariota or Russell Wilson just as a QB2 upgrade I don't want anything to do with a guy who's already peaked — like Kirk Cousins, Geno Smith, Derek Carr, or Aaron Rodgers. I've been a Vikings fan for 30 years, and I've already watched the "just sign an old guy and squeeze the best out of him" movie. Done with it. I also don't consider a trade for Joe Burrow or Lamar Jackson very realistic. It's also worth noting that if a trade is the preferred route, well, that can happen at any minute.

@VikingTweeta @Adam_Asmus @DustBaker It has never happened. Only two coaches have ever made it to year 5 without a playoff win. I am not fighting for KOC here, I just don't want to mortgage the future on a Kyler Murray or Mac Jones so we can go 10-7 and have no chance at competing for a title.

@VikingTweeta @DustBaker Who is the Front Office right now? Rob Brodzezinski is definitely the Wilf's guy in the FO and he is temporarily in the GM role, he isn't at risk, he is a caretaker. I do believe the Wilf's really believe in KOC. I think he could survive a good but not great QB year.

If what is best for the franchise is JJ, a decent vet and counting on KOC to do his job and develop the QB, then that is what i'd rather do. I'll be really bummed if we trade for Mac Jones.

@DustBaker It feels to me like 2027 is supposed to be a great QB draft. Would ride it out with JJ and if that doesn't work out you go take another swing. Having said that, I am really confused about all of these McCarthy "Leaks" from a team that doesn't usually conduct business in this way.

The Ringers coverage of the Vikings since KOC showed up is terrible. @ringernfl @BillSimmons @HousefromDC have spent 3 years telling us how a team going 34-17 in a rebuild isn’t good. They hated Darnold but now can’t imagine them winning without him. Top 5 in wins last 3 years.

@tornadojally The problem is that this is exactly why we lost to OKC. Mike, DDV, NAW, Randle all couldn't get the ball up the court against the OKC pressure and so much of the ball handling duties fell on Ant, he gassed out because of it. A serious floor general gets us to the next step IMO.
