Director Věra Chytilová's 'Daisies' (1966) is a philosphical comment on both the primitivism and aesthete-quality of humanity. The two protagonists spend their time indulging in every whim and desire that comes their way, and this GIF represents a great scene that exemplifies it.

@kiki_sterrett Agreed! There are SO many funny and super colorful moments that are visually active. GIFs must be visual before all else because they are often small and only looked at for a second. If the message doesn't come through almost instantly, people will move on to the next #cm316

Daisies is a film of over-indulgence of everything from food to men. When they’d get bored of one thing or a man, they’d simply toss it/him away, much like drowning a magazine man in the milk bath they took. #cm316

The world is terrible, but my #cm316 students are GIF-ing Cléo de 5 à 7 and Daisies this week, so at least I have that.

@Silas61431686 Like many other scenes throughout the film, I was very confused about this one when I first watched the movie. But it really speaks to just how much attention these two were trying to get all the time, especially when it seemed like people didn’t notice them. #cm316

@Amy_Student316 I love that input too yeah that’s a good observation I was thinking that but thoughts was red meant Michevious since they always doing pranks and the other colors meant success especially in the begining with the older gentleman #cm316

@ecm316 The red used when she drinks reminds me of a warning, which abates when she puts down the bottle and the screen turns to green, showing safety. I don't know if that's intentional but the colors must mean something!

When girls are having to much fun especially with the girls drinking and making bubbles as people are dancing having a great time #cm316 the colors shows the moods of the young girls #daises

@Tonie2020 Yes and reading the history of this film especially that they were amateurs actresses just intrigued me how the film was made! Just shocked why this film was banned lol there is far much more things on movies and TVs these days!

@ecm316 #CM316 When I think about how I approached this film. I’ve become aware that immediate judgement blurs our mind’s vision and almost steals from gaining a greater understanding. This is why films are great. They CHANGE US, just like traveling does. You become more aware

This scene was filmed in an interesting way. The girls go see a cabaret show, but are seated in an area that looks like a stage (elevated, behind pillars, curtains at top). Eventually this booth does become a stage and most of the patrons are watching them dance instead #cm316
