The audit team visited our Artisan Pro 2 site in Kilifi to observe the full biochar production cycle. From pyrolysis to mixing and final application, the process makes use of coconut husk waste as a sustainable feed-stock.

On Day 2 of the audit, the CERES auditors visited farmers participating in the C-sink model to assess their understanding of the entire biochar value chain. The visit focused on verifying farmers’ knowledge of the production process, from pyrolysis to the final application.

We are conducting an Indoor Air Monitoring Exercise to assess Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Nitrogen Oxide (NO) emissions from the use of Upesi Stoves. This assessment is critical in determining whether the stoves produce any harmful gases that could pose health risks to users.

At our Biochar Test Plot! We are conducting a practical trial to assess how biochar influences crop productivity. By comparing crops grown without biochar (control) & those grown with biochar (experimental), we are able to measure real differences in yield and plant health.
