Mixing viscous liquids efficiently in microfluidic systems is challenging due to slow diffusion.
But now, scientists found that the Leidenfrost phenomenon, which forms a chaotic convection flow, can mix these liquids in milliseconds!

@wc_ratcliff @GeorgiaTech It's a lot of money that Tech would need to find to accommodate such a change. There are about 4000 PhD students and about half are post-qualifying. That's a 37 million dollar deficit. I think most would support the idea if there was a plan to replace that loss.

We pay ~$18,500 for tuition every year, even when students are no longer taking classes.
I would love to see @GeorgiaTech stop charging (or dramatically reduce) tuition after students pass their qualifying exams.
