Bit of personal news, but this Friday will be my last day as a full-timer at the Meadville Tribune. I am leaving the industry, but plan on doing plenty of freelancing this spring and in the future so I won’t be disappearing. Thanks to everyone for following the last 5 years!

Just 15 minutes out as (2) Robert Morris takes on (3) Detroit Mercy in the semi-finals of the Horizon League tournament. The winner will play (1) Wright State for the right to do some dancing this March. Should be a great game of Mid-Major hoops.

Congratulations to Cochranton senior Walker Carroll @Walkercarrolll on becoming Cochranton’s all-time leading scorer! He scored 24 today to finish with 1,569 career points, surpassing Kohl Bernarding’s 1,563 set in 2019. Kohl was in the stands today to pass the torch.

Down at the state wrestling tournament, Crawford County medaled a pair of seniors in 2A Cochranton’s Cash Morrell placed seventh at 172 pounds, his first state medal and second trip Conneaut’s Drew Dygert took eighth at 285. His first state medal and appearance

Saegertown boys basketball saw its season came to a close today in the PIAA Class 2A first round. Sewickley Academy 65, Saegertown 25. Tough finish, but congrats to the Panthers who made their first appearance at the PIAA tournament since 2006
