You go around fighting the main bosses with barely any in depth cutscenes
The lore is what makes it amazing
CD is relative there’s alot of great lore

Im not much of a story guy, so elden ring was perfect for me. 50% of CD missions so far is just ”follow this guy while walking” or ”follow this guy on a horse”. Elden ring is just straight up a magical experience and not locked behind a REALLY avrage storyline

I found if you genuinely pay attention to what’s going on it’s a serviceable story.
Nobody I’ve spoken to has been able to justify the poor story take.
