(1/5) Very excited to announce the publication of Bayesian Models of Cognition: Reverse Engineering the Mind. More than a decade in the making, it's a big (600+ pages) beautiful book covering both the basics and recent work: mitpress.mit.edu/9780262049412/…

Excellent point @sjblakemore. Can I just add with my DTP hat that many UK funders will count the research skills learned in research assistant posts as graduate level training
Prof Sarah-Jayne Blakemore@sjblakemore

Undergrads/graduates: if you want to do a PhD, can’t afford to do a masters and know the area you want to do a PhD in, a perfectly decent alternative is to apply for a research assistant job and gain substantial research experience. Check jobs.ac.uk for job ads

Next week I'll join Singapore University of Technology and Design as an assistant prof😀 @sutdsg was founded in 2009 with the vision to integrate engineering and design. It's a role that reconnects me to my formative years in Tokyo's creative sector. Excited to meet the students.

@AlisonGopnik Congratulations Alison! It is such a well-deserved honour. I’m so sad to have missed the award and your talk. (I can’t be at CogSci this year.)

On the 4th of July, as one regime came to an end… a new power was rising. Her name is Polly, born via surrogacy. Dads, baby and surrogate all doing well. As two dads, having a child was made possible thanks to two incredible people.

@TheRealDrDukes Some off the beaten path ideas: Menswear shops on Savile Row/Jermyn St Carnaby Street (in the SoHo area) Borough Market (near Tate Modern & the wobbly bridge) Tower of London is great for monarch history but less crowded at Hampton Court Palace
