@gwiesefarms Grant, the people in Western North Dakota who own these tractors don’t have payments. Not uncommon to hear stories of wealthy individuals derived from minerals wealth walking into dealership and trading whole line of machinery for new and writing a check for it.

I’ve said this a bunch of times on here. Tractor payments are as big as land payments. But yet we can’t ever ‘win’ the bid for a farm because cash flow (tractor payments) are too tight.

Buy a 1/4 of farmland or a used tractor w/500 hours on it. Yes I know that won’t buy a 1/4 everywhere but I can’t spill a bag of corn seed and grow 200 bu corn here either. The real question is who is in the market to spend $950k on a USED tractor w/ a 5yr note?!?!

@MaryCKenn Only one bin really close to the elevator, otherwise the rest had some distance - but I'm sure it got a little toasty! The new expansion is to the east and shouldn't have been impacted. Grain grading and offices were all attached to the original wood elevator.

@gwiesefarms Market Value is what someone is willing to pay. Plenty of stories even as close back as 2024, 2 freaking years ago of land selling for 1/2 of what a parcel did across the road in 2022…. Read abstracts every once in a while. Land sale $2,200 in 1979, sold again in 1989 for $400

@Turbo_Durbo1 Cam Skattebo comes to mind, although a light heavyweight dude would be an absolute menace on the mat…. IMO it would be very hard for people who become good football players to become good wrestlers. You are underestimating the biggest difference and that is mental toughness.

This is going to be hard for the wrestling community to stomach… Wrestling heavyweight is not selecting from the same talent pool that football is. If every D1 & NFL‑caliber OL/DL/LB were funneled into wrestling instead of football, the heavyweight landscape would look completely different overnight. Wyatt Hendrickson might be an NCAA qualifier at best. While wrestling is the toughest, purest, most merit‑based and easily the most respected sport. It still is only crowning champions from the athletes who actually choose to participate. The biggest, strongest, most explosive 230-330 athletes in the country don’t wrestle. Just a talent distribution reality. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I think the biggest understatement on North Dakota’s 2025 crop is how many acres got abandoned due to late summer/fall rains. Would have smashed overall volume yoy production records by a long shot. Do some of these acres get combined yet this spring? Probably not IMO

Hockey culture just cannot fully grab hold in Bismarck. It’s certainly here, but no where near the same as eastern ND. I tried talking to probably 15 different people at my office about the game tomorrow and not a single one even recognized what I was talking about let alone had insight on it lol

@johnnidijulius I am genuinely curious why do we try so hard to make wrestling a team sport? The Olympics don’t keep track of team points or give team trophies… They give individual gold medals…. The ultimate goal in wrestling. Olympic Gold. Full disclosure: I love the team aspect of wrestling

@embdenhaymaker Every wrestler has cauliflower ear. You dont get it from 7 min matches you get it from practice. Where it there if you dont want it. Should be optional. And wrestling is a team sport. Duals are always better than tournaments in season.

Sick weekend overall. I still would like to see: 1 semester sport Jan-April. Change from singlet to 2 piece. Lose the headgear. Lose in season tournaments. Dual natty title. Team is focus. Unlimited neutral in OT takedown wins. Stallings reset in OT. Permanent site for NCAAs.
