Helping biz owners & startups launch websites + AI agents fast | Web dev & automation tips | DM for collabs!

Let me tell you something about one of my first AI automation clients. He is Nigerian and he runs a delivery company for e-commerce businesses. Basically, e-Com businesses send their orders to him, and his agents handle the deliveries. He reached out to me because he wanted an automation that could move orders from a WhatsApp group into Google Sheets. At that time, I was just about 7 months into learning AI automation. So I broke down the cost for him: → VPS hosting for 1 month → VPS hosting for 1 year → WhatsApp API for 1 month → My service fee to build the workflow But I also understood something very important: Nigerian businesses don’t like recurring costs. Especially monthly subscriptions. So instead of forcing him to pay for everything upfront, I gave him a smarter offer. I told him: “Let me build the workflow on my own n8n instance first. We’ll monitor it for one month. If you like the result, you can then pay for the 1-year VPS plan, and I’ll transfer the workflow to your own server.” He agreed. He paid my service fee. He subscribed for the WhatsApp API. I built the workflow. And for one month, we tested it. After that first month, I gave him another offer. I had access to free VPS hosting, so I told him: “Instead of paying Hostinger directly, pay me the equivalent of the 1-year VPS cost. I’ll host your n8n instance on my VPS, self-host the WhatsApp API, and help you monitor the existing workflow.” No new builds. Just checks and maintenance for what we had already created. Of course, he took the offer. He paid. I delivered. Since then, I have built 3 different workflows for him, and he paid for each one. Most times, the only thing I still help him with is Google Sheets reauthorization. And this morning, he randomly sent me money again. That reminded me of something: Sometimes, getting automation clients is not just about knowing the tools. It is about understanding the business. Businesses like to save money. They like simple offers. They like low-risk entry points. They like someone who can solve their problem without making the solution feel expensive, complicated, or stressful. This is one of the things many people miss when learning AI automation. They focus only on tools. n8n. Zapier. Make. Claude code.. But the real game is understanding how to turn those tools into business value. cause' tools don’t get you paid.. Solving business problems with tools does..
