@imcoolchristian And this right here is why we want your Christian death cult eradicated. You are really no different than the muslims. Tribalistic, aggressive, and dangerous. And backwards for the record.

Sometimes we do not realize how history can repeat without our noticing. Here Dr. David Bentley Hart, a self-professed Eastern Orthodox Christian, can publicly proclaim the equivalent message to Martin Luther and the rest of the European Protestants and remain peacefully in communion with the Orthodox Church, continue to receive praise and awards from his Orthodox (and Catholic/Protestant) colleagues, and never be disciplined or denounced as a “heretic” by the competent authorities. However, when this same thing happened in the 16th century, it was earth-shattering both theologically and geo-politically. It literally changed the world. With the way things are going, the “new” Protestant reformation will be a return to traditional Christianity. The hierarchies of Catholicism and Orthodoxy sit and watch the Hart’s and Fr. Martin’s of the world (not to mention the glaring German Episcopal Conference) and yawn. They are more quick to jump out of their thrones to discipline the Archbishop Lefevbre’s, the Boshop Schneiders, the Cardinal Pell’s and Muller’s of the world. …. Or you may call them the Luther’s of the world. At least, it is their kind which will actually cause a similar effect in the world over David Hart or Fr. James Martin, EtthJay.

@Tatiana83196605 @Acts17David @ModernDayDebate Well, David changed the debate topic, so not sure what your point is here? Debating the true church will show the fundamental issues within the protestant pluralist position, the Bible being (Self-authenticating). So let's forget all that! Icons it is! Haha

The fake "prophet" Mohammed is literally a homosexual who got gang banged by 30 black men in the desert. This is not a joke. It is confirmed by two hadith. Islam is gay 🏳️‍🌈

@ReturnOrthodoxy @MethodMinistry Apostolic succession ≠ infallible magisterium So if RC, EO and OO are wrong, then Protestantism is the answer

EO here. Scripture is only a small part of why I became convinced of Orthodoxy. Also, I don't think it's possible to be 100% certain about EO. There is still faith involved. But in terms of apostolic succession, that is a very clear bare minimum throughout all of Church history. The issue I have with protestants is they limit their data to Scripture, whereas I used several writings from the first and second century to help prove the catholicity of the Church. So while there is some room for questioning today, I think that protestantism can easily be eliminated as a realistic option.

Ask an EO how they know their church is infallible and they’ll engage in circular reasoning, EO: “Because the Scripture says the Holy Spirit will guide us.” Prot: “How do you know that interpretation is infallible?” EO: “Because the EOC is the true church.” Prot: “How do you know that?” EO: Circles back to first answer. It’s trying to prove their church by the Bible while arguing that you can only prove the Bible by their church.
CleavetoAntiquity@C2Antiquity

If Protestantism is true, then the Bible lied and Christianity is false: Protestants hold to Sola Scriptura “The Bible Alone” as their sole infallible authority for matters of faith, and claim no tradition or interpretation is infallible. If no infallible tradition or interpretation is possible, then there is no objective truth in matters of interpretation of the scripture. If this is the case the Bible lied when it declared “The Church is the ground and pillar of truth.” (1 Timothy 3:15) If the scripture lied, the author is a false prophet according to the standards of scripture. (Deuteronomy 18:22) Which would disprove Christianity itself.

It appears St. Epiphanius (313?–403) was an early iconoclast. He destroys a curtain w/ the image of Christ or a saint, calling it “contrary to… the Scriptures” + “unworthy… of the Church of Christ.” Fascinatingly, St. Jerome (342?–420) translates & preserves the letter!
