BREAKING: POLITICIANS SHAMEFULLY SILENT ON VILE ABUSE OF ELDERLY One month ago we exposed the horrific treatment of our elderly neighbour in Mayo University who died after he was prescribed powerful anti-psychotic drugs and left malnourished and dehydrated in a hospital ward. The flood of messages from heartbroken families reveals that this abuse is happening routinely in Mayo University Hospital and right across this country. This appalling abuse of elderly patients is a national scandal - a policy to drug elderly patients with powerful anti-psychotics, deny them treatment for treatable conditions, and keep them in a coma-like state until they die. We are thankful for families who have taken action and saved the lives of their family members after seeing our videos. Most disturbing, however, is that four weeks after these revelations were made, and after immense public outrage, not one politician has said a word on this matter. Individuals such as Paul Lawless of Aontú, Councillor Harry Barrett (Castlebar) and Rose Conway-Walsh of Sinn Féin - the so-called ‘Opposition’ - know full well the extent of the shocking abuse of the most vulnerable in our hospitals. They know that elderly patients are being drugged to death with anti-psychotics and sedatives, but will not open their mouths to speak a word. Instead we see these politicians seeking to mislead and deflect, saying that hospitals are under-staffed or under-resourced. This is an insult to the dead. The nurses and other staff who ignored our concerns in Mayo University Hospital were NOT “run off their feet” - INDEED THEY CALLED SECURITY AND THREATENED TO CALL THE GARDAÍ WHEN QUESTIONS WERE ASKED. Do not be deceived by your political representatives. Stand up for your loved ones and refuse to be intimidated.
