One week since launching @extradotemail and the response has been amazing.🙏
Building in consumer is wild...you never know if people will actually like it. This kind of reception has been incredibly flattering.

Fascinating new trend in the consumer space!
Team of enggs & designers from Pinterest launch a product to re-imagine the email inbox. The tool uses AI extensively ("couldn’t exist without AI") but they are not pitching / framing it as an AI app. No compulsive AI washing on the homepage, neither is the website on a .ai URL.
Q: “People are very deep in [AI], but the average person doesn’t even know where to start. When you mention AI, it kind of feels a little power, user-y. So many companies are promising to be the AI personal assistant for your life. People don’t really need that. They just want their basic problems solved. That’s what we’re focused on — solving those user problems, versus pitching the next AI that can do everything”
Haven't yet checked out the product itself, but the positioning strategy looks like a fresh breath of air, an imaginative unlock on how to frame your product amidst the AI hype/hoopla all around.
