@miNickEsMote @memobarba La demanda por pesos es más alta que la demanda por dólares. 3 factores: estabilidad mediano plazo por el crecimiento del PIB impulsado por crecimiento del consumo interno, al índice de deuda/PIB bajo vs resto del mundo, y en el corto plazo a tasas reales en pesos atractivas.

Doing a back-of-the-envelope calculation, a 7B Llama 2 model costs about $760,000 to pretrain! And this assumes you get everything right from the get-go: no hparam tuning, no debugging, no crashes and restarting. The real cost, including experimentation, is probably millions! It makes me appreciate all these openly available models! Math: - The total number of GPU hours needed is 184,320 hours. - The cost of running one A100 instance per hour is approximately $33. - Each instance has 8 A100 GPUs. That's 184320 / 8 * 33 = $760,000

@frangaos Creo que son varias cosas. 1ero, para el 2007, pre Iphone, ya había en Brazil cerca de 120 millones de tarjetas de crédito y 200 millones de débito. Es decir, los bancos le entendieron antes. 2ndo, el costo de crédito era mucho más bajo en esa década. Y 3ero, Pix sin duda ayudó.

Esto es el resultado de la basura dogmática de que para subir salarios, primero tiene que subir la productividad. Si pagas basura de salarios, la gente te da basura de productividad. Así que Xochil, mil planas: la cultura laboral no está en los genes, está en los salarios.

@jefielding Entitlement is bad no matter what and usually ends bad. Nobody wants to work for those. Arrogance oth is fine if they walk the talk. Many successful folks are arrogant because they "know" they have the goods. So I think the key in those cases is to figure out if walk>=talk.

I recently passed on a company because I didn't like the founder. BUT, I have strong feeling that the company will be successful. Founder was not awful, offensive or shady, just kinda arrogant and entitled, not my vibe. But if my job is returning capital to LPs and I believe this founder can be successful and within our thesis, should I be investing anyway? I struggle with this...
