@ithayla One of my favorite Dragon Con memories was when the show was at its peak- the whole cast was there and I saw them all come out of a hotel bar. They were as ripped as I was.

Brandon Cronenberg's latest film "Infinity Pool". Highly recommended. 4/5 in Japan. Wrote a quote. Brandon, you are awesome. 👍🫶 Brandon has shattered the "pool" of genre in cinema with "Infinity Pool". From beginning to end, it's completely unpredictable. It’s like being on a corkscrew coaster, repeating the cycle of nausea and addiction. A drunk sensation between reality and dream. An endlessly raw analog feeling. The ecstasy of being reborn after loss. Committing crimes, violating conscience, and the guilt of replaying it. It resembles the dangers of a video game, a bottomless pit from which you cannot escape. This is "Infinity Horror," purged of the "pool" of the body and mind. Brandon's talent is "infinity."

@Yugblad Yeah, it was pretty good...like a lot of his b tier it's very iterative so it's in the Flinke Plinke/Loco/Pirat family. We had some fun with it and sold it off.

I have virtually zero interest in board games these days and the title is absolutely the worst but Knizia's MLEM is really great- a cross between Can't Stop and Deep Sea Adventure. Super fun and sneakily cutthroat.

@WherevrIMayRoll Yeah our first game was a disaster...but then we started to figure out budgeting out the rolls and working out when to bail better...I'm not really in favor of mitigating the bad rolls TBH- that gives you something to blame on the captain!

Atlanta is currently like Arrakis but instead of melange wafting through the air when the sun is low it's pollen and your eyes turn red instead of blue.

@robertflorence Absolutely. The way characters talk in these movies, the way they are written, is like nothing else. When I first saw Fury Road I was so thrilled that it had that "thing" his movies have. Like "he was scannin' the horizon", Immortan Joe's speech, "my world is blood and fire".

Give me this. A lot gets said about the action and the visuals of Mad Max movies. But for me what makes these films special is the writing. The characters, the world building, and most importantly - the dialogue. “Where were you going, so full of hope?!” is just beautiful.

@semicoop It's Keystep 37, sort of their middle tier model. It's pretty great- sequencer, arps, a great chord mode with a "strum" feature...it's also a good size- not as big as the pro. Can't do without it LOL!

@factorygames Is that an Aturia Keystep? How do you like it? we have a friend who we jam with that has a Pro but it always seemed a bit too much for our needs.

Out here trying to make something sort of a cross between Clock DVA and early Human League. Kind of succeeding...it's a little harder than I was aiming for but hey you go where it leads you.
