Herbie Hancock, 84 years young today. The man contains multitudes, so I won’t do him the disservice of attempting to blurb his genius here. Suffice it to say, if you’re old enough to be reading this and unfamiliar with his music, start and the beginning and never stop.

I first stumbled across Khruangbin when I accidentally heard their 2018 release *Con Todo el Mundo*, instantly falling in love with their airy, cinematic vibes.

King Oliver, died this day in 1938 at the age of (probably) 56. Cornet player, bandleader, and composer, these Victor-era recordings will take you directly back to one of the greatest drinking eras in history.
