while “look what you’ve done!” could be taken as upset about the creature injuring himself, I think it really is speaking more to victor’s own experiences with misguided discipline

idk why it just occurred to me but victor’s neuroticism about the creature injuring his hand is such an upsetting mirror of how his own father emphasized how important it was to preserve the integrity of the hands, as they are tools that must be cared for

just came back from my 2nd frankenstein experience in theaters. it IS better each time. and it IS best seen on the big screen. sublime.
