Nigeria is strongest when we choose unity over division, truth over propaganda, and nation over tribe. At the Nigeria First Unity Summit today, I emphasized President Tinubu’s vision of a country where our diversity becomes a national asset, not a fault line, and where every citizen, from traditional rulers to youth innovators, is a stakeholder in peace. We are building a new security and unity doctrine anchored on community intelligence, economic inclusion, interfaith dialogue, and human security. If we reject the politics of fear and embrace the politics of nationhood, Nigeria will not just endure, it will rise. Together, we can. Together, we must. Together, we will.

Dear Citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Remember when I told you that a vote for Peter Obi, either as President or Vice President in 2027, is a vote for a Presidential pardon for Nnamdi Kanu? Well, here, in his statement released today, is the proof. Peter Obi says Nnamdi Kanu should never have been arrested, let alone tried. But the truth is that Nnamdi Kanu is the head of an organisation named the Indigenous People of Biafra, which was declared a terrorist organisation by the Nigerian government. And he has major supporters and sympathisers, including Mr Peter Obi, who affirmed on a Channel Television interview broadcast that Nnamdi Kanu has done nothing warranting arrest. But is that true? Mr Kanu gave a broadcast on Radio Biafra in the first week of October 2020, in which he urged his followers and supporters to burn down Lagos and kill military personnel as part of the #EndSARS protests. His exact words were as follows: "Lagos airport should be on flames. Breach the perimeter fence and burn down Lagos. Anybody, if you have a double barrel, if you have a pistol, anything you have, give it to them, let them go and kill them. Penetrate the airport and set Murtala Muhammed Airport on fire. Set it ablaze right now. Then the world will listen". Continuing, Mr Nnamdi Kanu said as follows: "You are dealing with animals. Fulani Janjaweed. They are animals. They do not reason. They do not reason. You don't know them." Thereafter, he received a call on his broadcast on Radio Biafra, and berated his followers on the line for not killing military men. He said as follows: "How many policemen died? I don't want to hear, 'They kill us, they kill us'. How many did you kill? How many police or army did you kill? Mr Kanu was then told of the casualties inflicted on the military, to which he responded as follows: "Thank you very much". The very next day after Nnamdi Kanu's broadcast, Lagos lost over ₦700 billion in property damage during #EndSARS protests and tens of soldiers and police officers were killed. That amount is twice Anambra State's 2024 budget. 80 BRT buses were destroyed, along with the Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre, the most advanced forensic laboratory in Black Africa. Next, they set ablaze the Lagos Oriental Hotel, before burning City Hall, Igbosere court, which was the oldest court in Nigeria, and almost twenty police stations. Finally, they looted banks, shoprite stores and multiple malls. And this is the person Peter Obi claims is innocent? Nigerians, never forget this in 2027 and beyond. Peter Obi must NEVER be President of Nigeria! Reno Omokri Gospeller. Deep Thinker. #TableShaker. I genuinely don’t know where all of this will eventually lead us as a nation. If the rising tensions and the constant reckless narrative are simply because of the combination of the individuals currently occupying the Presidency, then why can’t we just wait and channel our dissatisfaction through the ballot boxes in 2027? We all clearly remember the events of the 2023 elections. Neither President Tinubu, his Deputy nor the APC built their campaign around religion. They did not tour mosques preaching religious fear. They did not weaponise faith for political gain. Instead, they focused on experiences and regional balance. But Peter Obi, the very candidate many of propagandists supported, went from church to church framing the election as a religious war and busy calling daddies to help him take the message to their congregations. I genuinely thought that the Tinubu/Shettima ticket would be seen first and foremost as a Yoruba/Kanuri ticket, two ethnic groups coming together to represent national diversity, as people have been preaching that religion should never come before tribe. But now, because that narrative doesn’t fit the current agenda, suddenly everything is reduced to Muslim/Muslim, as their ethnic identities no longer matter. If we genuinely care about this country, our politics must be guided by truth, not reckless narratives crafted to inflame sentiment. Nigeria deserves better.

I, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Governor of Adamawa State, wish to categorically state that I dissociate myself from the position of expelling the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, @GovWike , from @OfficialPDPNig (PDP). I believe that this decision is not in the best interest of the party, and I will not be party to any attempt that could further plunge the PDP into unending crisis. As a faithful party member, my position is clear: I stand for the peace and stability of the PDP, and I will not support anything that could lead to its disintegration. I believe that peace and reconciliation are the only ways forward for our great party. I urge all stakeholders to work towards healing the divisions within the party and to strive for unity and cohesion. As a party man, I am committed to supporting efforts that promote peace, stability, and progress within the PDP. Let me reiterate that my position is guided by the desire for peace and reconciliation, and I will continue to work towards achieving this goal.

Wike Condemns Military Takeover Of Abuja Land, Orders Halt To Illegal Development ...Says Former Naval Chief Behind Encroachment, Vows to Resist Intimidation Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, has condemned the alleged illegal takeover of a disputed land in Abuja by military personnel reportedly acting on the orders of a former Chief of Naval Staff, describing the act as lawless and unacceptable. Wike, who personally visited the site on Tuesday after receiving reports that soldiers had driven away FCTA officials enforcing development control directives, said no individual no matter their former position would be allowed to intimidate government authorities or obstruct enforcement of the law. “You are aware that the land departments and the Development Control have the mandate to monitor illegal development and land grabbing,” the minister said. “When this was brought to my attention, I instructed them to ensure that nothing takes place there, as there were no legal documents—no regional approval, no valid acquisition.” According to Wike, while officials of the Department of Development Control were on site to implement his directive, they were chased away by armed soldiers allegedly acting under the instruction of a retired senior officer. “I was informed that the soldiers of the military had to chase them away, and I thought they were acting illegally,” Wike said. “Today, while I was in the office, I was called again that the military had taken over the place. I had to come myself to see things. It’s really unfortunate.” He expressed shock that a person who once held a top military position could resort to such intimidation rather than follow due process. “I don’t understand how somebody who attained that position cannot approach my office to say, ‘Look, this is what is going on.’ But simply because he’s a military man, he thinks he can use that to intimidate Nigerians. I am not one of those that will succumb to blackmail or intimidation,” the minister said firmly. Wike also disclosed that when the FCTA officials demanded documents to justify the occupation, none were produced. “The Director of Development Control said, ‘Bring the documents’ they don’t have them. ‘Bring approval for building’ they don’t have it. How can we continue to allow lawlessness to prevail? What about those who don’t have the military behind them? What about ordinary Nigerians?” The minister maintained that the FCT Administration would not tolerate the misuse of military power to obstruct legitimate urban regulation, stressing that the rule of law must apply to all. “I have spoken to the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Naval Staff. They assured me that the matter will be resolved. We’re not here to have a shootout with anybody or cause chaos,” Wike said. “But I will not allow this to happen. The same way we enforce our laws in other areas is the same way it will be done here. Nobody whether a former Chief of Naval Staff or anyone else will be allowed to carry out illegal development on government land.” Wike reaffirmed his commitment to restoring order and accountability in Abuja’s land administration, warning that the FCTA would continue to reclaim encroached areas, no matter how powerful those involved may be.

Nigerians are so funny, and I’m shocked that people are actually praising the officer. Yet, the same people would complain and cry if any military personnel punished civilians unjustly. You can dislike Wike or even hate his family, but at least, be bold enough to be objective. The naval officers have no reason whatsoever to be on land, whether it belongs to a former naval staff or not. Moreover, protecting their boss’s land is not part of their job description. Lastly, no military order supersede the law of the federal republic of Nigeria. Let’s always call things as they truly are.

This is totally unacceptable and a gross breach of protocol. The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, embodies the authority of the Federal Capital Territory and, by extension, the Federal Government. To obstruct or confront him and his team while on official duty is not only disrespectful but deeply unbecoming. The Minister deserves full respect and cooperation as he carries out his mandate.

Lt A.M Yerima. I believe his rank is the equivalent of a 2nd Lieutenant in th Army. If he got it through the NDA it will put his age at around 25 years. He not only FORCEFULLY PREVENTED Civil servants from carrying out their lawful duties on behalf of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT he also stood up to a SERVING MINISTER of the Government. This is high INSOLENCE. It is grave INDISCIPLINE. It is a show of UNDERMINING of duly constituted Government Authority. Coming from a soldier of the Nigerian Armed Forces it is an equivalent of a COUP D'ETAT and should be treated as such! When a Soldier does anything to UNDERMINE CIVIL AUTHORITY IT IS AS GOOD AS A COUP D'ETAT. I am waiting to see how the New Service Chiefs and Commander-in-Chief will deal with this chap. It should never be swept under the carpet. The other day it was a POLICEMAN who stood up to Governor Babajide Sanwoolu of Lagos State. And the usual excuse is that "I am carrying out an order". Are such soldiers saying that the orders, illegitimate as they were, from their superior officers are above the laws of the Federal Republic and Constituted Authorities of Government? If Soldiers can do this to a Serving Minister and a Police man to q Sitting Governor what message are we sending across? That the Guns of the Soldiers and Police men are mightier than the Rule of Law? I say, this officer and the Rtd Admiral Gambo who allegedly gave him the orders, together with the serving commanders who equipped hlm must be made to face the music. They can thereafter go and instigate their colleagues to plan coup so the Nigerian Masses who elected those in power can then rise up to them to show them who truly owns the power. This is absolute nonsense! © Adedamola Adetayo 11 November 2025
