Hawi Feysa 🇪🇹 sets a course record of 2:17:25 at the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon. 12th fastest time in the world this year. She betters the previous course record by 1:45 minutes.

Fastest German athletes at the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon receive their awards at the Festhalle: Jan Lukas Becker in 2:15:20 and Christin Adler in 2:45:57. Huge congratulations!

Many personal bests today! Among them Georgina Schwiering 🇬🇧 with 2:25:46 (unofficial) as best European female runner, 11th place.

Jan Lukas Becker has finished his debut in 17th place with 2:15:20. He is the fastest German and ran a very brave race.

Magdalyne Masai celebrates 2nd place in 2:18:58 (unofficial), also dipping under the previous course record of 2:19:10. She is welcomed and hugged at the finish by her husband Jake Robertson, who had to drop out of the race.

Kenyans Agnes Keino and Catherine Cherotich made their way forward and will battle for 3rd and 4th place in the Festhalle.

Hawi Feysa on fire! The Ethiopian is beyond 40K and on her way to dramatically better the women's course record of 2:19:10. Magdalyne Masai still in second position, but seems to have no chance for victory anymore.

Unfortunately the three Germans have dramatically slowed beyond the 30k mark. Debutant Becker is now on 2:14 course while Thurley und Dahlke might well have dropped out.

Gossa Challa takes second in 2:07:35, fellow-Ethiopian Lencho Tesfaye is third with 2:08:02. These times are still unofficial.

Benard Biwott wins the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon with 2:05:54. This could be the start of a great marathon career for the 22 year-old Kenyan.

Hawi Feysa came with a PB of 2:23:36 to Frankfurt. She is an high quality training group in Addis Ababa including Olympic silver medallist Tigst Assef, the current Berlin champion Tigist Ketema and Amane Beriso Shankule, World Marathon Champion in 2023.

Biwott is more than a minutes ahead of Challa.

Benard Biwott passed 40k in 1:59:19, the expected finishing time is around 2:05:45.

It looks very likely that Benard Biwott, who has a half marathon PB of 59:44 from last year, will become a debut champion in Frankfurt. The last time a debutant took the men's race here was in 2008, when Robert Cheruiyot of Kenya spectacularly broke the course record with 2:07:21

The duel between Hawi Feysa ETH vs Magdalyne Masai KEN is still on. They're on 2:17:45 pace after 35K, just separated by three seconds at this point. This could be a dramatic finish with the highest-quality performances of the day.
