@slarjy So are you saying we were improperly seeded as a 3 seed? That seed line is a sweet 16 seed line. It’s not like we were a fringe team - we won 30 games and were the clear 2nd best team in the ACC with a consensus top 15 national ranking.

@fivepillarhoos There is a huge difference between a TDR who shoots 40% from 3 and one who shoots 30%. I put little stock on going "toe-to-toe" with another team, particularly one who is depleted. That's like saying we're a tough out. In the history of basketball, all tough outs have lost.

I have mixed feelings as this season ends. It’s hard to argue that Odom’s 1st season was an unequivocal success. At the same time - thought this team had Elite 8 potential. Thrilled with the overall season. Disappointing exit today.

@slarjy Semi fair point. De Ridder was our go to this year. Admittedly he stunk it up in the ACC tournament. But he got buckets down the stretch yesterday. Don’t think Elite 8 was an unreasonable ceiling for this group. We went toe to toe with Duke in the ACC tournament.

@fivepillarhoos Without a go-to player? I thought making the Sweet Sixteen would have been a tremendous accomplishment and unlikely without some luck, which we didn't get. I feel like you guys aren't looking around the country to see how much talent the other guys have. The gap is real.

Definitely not mentally prepared for this game. We pulled it out but have to clean it up against Tennessee. Too many sloppy turnovers, bad defense. On the flip side we shot it well and God Bless Jacari White.

Defense was atrocious that half. Wide open shooters all over place. 8 threes. Didn’t force any turnovers. Not a surprise.

Virginia basketball is one of the best stories in the country. Just beat SMU to improve to 16-2 overall, and beat Louisville + SMU - two tournament teams - in back-to-back games. Top 10 team in America. Ryan Odom doing one of the best coaching jobs in America. PERIOD 🗣️🗣️
