I can't remember where I saw this, but there was someone who made the point that the death of the ego is actually what men need. Because men are conditioned to put their ego first and to plan all of their movements from a place of ego. So it dominates their thinking, and they have to kill it off in order to access their intuition. What women need, however, is to build ego. Because women are conditioned to be self sacrificing, and to put their needs last. So male self-help books don't work for women because women are coming from a place of self abnegation. What heals women is to EMBRACE ego: To make a claim to what's around them and establish and accept their own individuality and preferences. I think Elizabeth Gilbert said this? Not sure though.

Someone said “ the death of ego will set you free as a woman” and I agree. Ego is the part of you that says: “I must prove I’m enough.” Freedom is when you realize: “I don’t need to prove anything to be enough. Emotional freedom is necessary, you become less reactive, less defensive, and more grounded in who you are. The best thing you can do for yourself a woman is to become unbothered by unnecessary validation.

Just a reminder that the rich aren’t fleeing NYC. Low income New Yorkers, priced out of their communities, are who is leaving NYC.

The issue is, people want low effort friendships to be rewarded so badly. People are allowed to have high standards and expectations for their friends, I would even say more than their romantic relationships. Your friends set the standard. Your friends are the family you choose

Women are out here sharing live locations, checking the backseats of cars, and holding their hands over their drinks. Men are doing 3 hour podcasts about how unfair it is that we don't smile at them. The disconnect is fatal.
