I will neither forget nor forgive how journalists worldwide said nothing as their peers were being butchered- at times along with their families. 205 press personnel killed in 15 months. In these last 15 months, we learned how journalists around the world broke all journalistic standards, showed ZERO journalistic integrity and pushed false information to their audiences. There were, of course; the rare ones that upheld their journalistic duties & fought for the protection of PRESS. May we celebrate you for protecting the right of the world to know what’s happening, and for demanding protection for your peers in Gaza. What a charged year with so many lessons.

أمي المولودة في حيفا عام 1935 -حفظها الله لنا- تحدثني -وشقيقاتي وأشقائي- دائما عن خروجهم من حيفا 1948 بفعل مجازر العصابات الصهيونية آنذاك والترهيب لتهجير الفلسطينيين، الأمر الذي عرف بالنكبة. كنت دائما أتخيل مشهد العائلات حين أجبرت على ترك منازلها وليس معهم إلا مفاتيحها والحد المعقول من الأمل من أجل العودة بعد أيام أو أسابيع على الأكثر، وما ظنوا أن الأمر سوف يستمر 75 سنة. ما كانت تحدثني عنه أمي -وما زالت- صرت أنا الذي يحدثها عنه وإن كنتُ خارج غزة جسدا، ساكنا فيها روحا، فأقول لها أمي يا أم هيثم الآن أرى ما حدثتني عنه بالصور الملونة، الفرق يا أمي أن في زمنكم ساكنين لجؤوا، والآن هم لاجئون لجؤوا، لكن الأمل ما زال ساكنا فينا يا أم هيثم.
